PATH National Ltd is a successful Positive Action Skills Development Organisation designed to train and develop people from Black and Minority Ethnic Groups in managerial and professional occupations where they are under represented.
We are working in partnership with Hampshire County Council who want to increase the diversity of their workforce and address the under representation of Black and Minority Ethnic Groups within the department of Culture, Communities and Rural Affairs, and applications are therefore encouraged from these groups.

Hampshire County Council Museums Service manages 16 community museums and historic sites across the county, 11 of them in partnership with District Councils, as well as supporting and advising many independent museums.
Specialist staff based at our Headquarters, just outside Winchester, care for and manage a wide range of collections and, with our staff based at local museums, make them available in many different ways. We offer a touring exhibitions programme, an outreach service, an extensive schools service and special events throughout the year.
We are the lead partner for the South East Museums Hub which was formed as part of the 'Renaissance in the Regions' programme, a Government funded initiative to re-vitalise regional museums.
If you have an interest in the Museum Service, and: - Can demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, - Have the ability to work in a customer focused environment, - Are committed to equality and diversity, - Have the ability and enthusiasm to undertake study and training combined with on the job work experience;
We will offer you: - 1 year practical work experience in a real work environment, - Relevant development and training courses, - Continuous support provided by Path National and Hampshire County Council, -Time off/Day release to attend a funded college or university course to pursue a relevant qualification.
Essential Requirements: -You must be eligible to qualify for the 'Home Student' college/university fees (e.g. as a UK national or another EU Country), -Hold a degree, or equivalent, in a relevant museum related discipline e.g. History, Art, Natural -Science, Archeology, Education, -Must be willing to manage combined work and study, -Demonstrate a basic knowledge of collection management and collection access issues, -Possess excellent customer care skills, -Have the ability to manage own projects with minimal supervision, -Able to communicate effectively with professional colleagues and audiences and members of the public, -Demonstrate an interest in a career in museums.
