Using a Careers Service / Private Consultant - Questions to ask:

·    What are their qualifications in careers advice, counselling and psychometric testing (if used)?

·    How long has the consultant/adviser been practicing, and what is their own careers background?

·    Will you be able to contact them for on-going support between guidance sessions?

·    What outputs, if any, will you receive from the process eg. a personalised report about your aptitudes and career preferences, help with drafting a new CV etc.
