internships

Tanya Roberts - Intern with Artswork Ltd

University of Winchester, graduate

Why did you decide to apply for the internship?

Because it’s a job role I’ve always wanted and I felt that by gaining further experience it would help me to develop my existing skills and potentially go on to help with finding a job.

Tanya

Have you enjoyed your internship? Did it meet your expectations?

Yes.

What key skills do you think you have developed by doing the internship?

I feel that my communication and event management skills have been greatly developed and therefore I feel more confident when organising events and/or conferences.

Do you think that having completed this internship it will help you to get your next job?

Yes, my experience and skills have been developed and the internship gave me the opportunity to prove myself to the organisation. In doing so, I have already been offered a full time position within Artswork as their Operations and ENYAN Coordinator.

Have you been offered an extended contract/permanent role with the company?

Yes.

Would you recommend an internship to other recent unemployed graduates?

Definitely, this is a great way to gain experience whilst being paid. It allows you to spend time within the industry and get your name know through networking. It can open so many doors for you that perhaps you had not even considered.

What was your experience of applying through Graduate Jobs South and how do you think we could improve our service?

The application process was great. The only suggestion I might make is for GJS to call the graduate before the company so that they are aware that the organisation is interested.
