Placements, internships and other work based learning experiences are not the sole property of undergraduates. The University of Southampton’s Career Destinations are keen to assist our postgraduate population with increased efforts to best serve our postgraduate researchers, more commonly known as PhD students.
National reports demonstrate that research students are highly equipped with the skills sought by employers including excellent self-management, team working, analytical, communication and entrepreneurial skills.
We are currently looking to expand our working relationships with organisations that would be keen to explore opportunities to work with PhD students through offering placements or project work.
Our modern researchers are trained and developed in such a way that they have specialist knowledge of a particular area while also developing a wide variety of skills that are transferable from academia.
